The Priority Deadline for scholarship funding is quickly approaching for
the Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service, a dynamic summer
program for undergraduate students interested in volunteerism and
careers in the nonprofit sector. A substantial amount of scholarship
funding is still available and over half of all students accepted to the
program receive a scholarship. Students are encouraged to apply by the
priority deadline of January 25th as acceptance, internship placement
and scholarship decisions are made on a rolling basis. Scholarships are
awarded based on academic excellence, leadership ability and financial
need. The final deadline is February 25, 2008.

*Classes -- Up to 9 credit hours from Georgetown University
*Housing -- Furnished on-campus apartments
*Service -- Variety of hands-on community projects

Job Opportunities
(In Washington, DC -- if you're graduating this term) The Harbour Group
is seeking a recent college graduate with good organizational skills,
strong communications skills and writing ability. The Account
Coordinator provides overall support for client accounts, which includes
tracking relevant print, broadcast and online coverage of key client
issues; conducting electronic and other research; conducting
background research of media and policymaker targets; building and
maintaining databases; preparing initial drafts of written materials,
such as media advisories, electronic updates and activity reports; and
securing media coverage for clients through telephone pitch calls,
emails and other outreach.
In addition, the Account Coordinator provides overall office support and
acts as a liaison with outside consultants on office management and
financial issues, which might include serving as point person for office
IT concerns and maintenance; working with Managing Director and
consultants to set up new client billing codes, process client billings
and produce invoices, process payment of third-party vendors and track
accounts receivables; handling staff expense reports and
reimbursements, including petty cash; and providing additional
administrative support, including faxing, photocopying and answering
