Renowned polling and political firm Luntz, Maslansky Strategic Research
is coming to the Philadelphia area to moderate an all student focus
group session about the Presidential election. You will be commenting on
the presidential race for a major cable news network. You will be shown
on live television during a special election coverage program. This is
your chance to get your opinion on one of the highest rated networks on
television. The group will be on Wednesday, April 16th and will run from

Dates: May 15 - August 1
Program assistants for the Fels Summer Program will assist with the
variety of mentoring, speaking, and social events offered to the
approximately 250 Penn students who will be living and working in
Washington this summer. Program assistants will report to the Director
of Penn in Washington, and will be expected to manage much of the
logistics of meetings and events. Students should have some familiarity
with Washington, but more importantly should be independent thinkers,
with strong communication and organization skills, and above all should
be positive and enthusiastic. This is an excellent opportunity to meet a
range of professionals in the field of public policy. Hours are flexible
(minimum five afternoon hours, maximum 20 hours/wk). Position is paid.

*Third Way***
Dates: June-August, full time. Pay is $1000 per month.
Third Way's Internship Program introduces highly motivated *graduate or
law students*, with an interest in policy analysis and development, to
the process of advancing a 21st century progressive agenda. In addition
to their day to day tasks, interns will gain hands-on experience working
closely with Third Way's senior management team, which has extensive
political, communications, and policy experience, forged at every level
of government and advocacy: the White House, federal agencies, the House
and Senate, presidential campaigns, and national non-profit advocacy
organizations. Interns may be asked to write research memoranda, assist
in the drafting of policy briefs used for presentations to staff and
members on the Hill, and help to organize and attend briefings, events
and press conferences. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. You
may apply for the following sessions: Summer (June- August), Fall
(September- December), or Spring (January- May). Third Way's three
program areas are National Security, Culture, and Middle Class

The Washington Semester Program (WSP) operates in many respects like a
semester abroad and offers Penn students an opportunity to learn from
first-hand experience in political and governmental processes at
internships of their choosing while taking courses taught by Penn
faculty in the nation's capital. Although designed primarily to fit the
needs of social science majors, the WSP may be suitable also for science
and humanities majors with a serious interest in public policy,
